Nohan Kenneh: Future Leeds United and England Star?

The Leeds United academy is well known in the world of football and has produced talent for many years. Recently the likes of Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke and this season, Alfie McCalmont have all come through the academy and gone on to play for Leeds United first team. A player many Leeds United fans have been excited about for a while is Nohan Kenneh. The 16 year old, who was born in Liberia before moving to the UK at the age of 7, joined Leeds United after impressing during a trial. Impressive performances for the younger age groups at Leeds United lead to a call up by England at under 15 level. He’s since gone on to play for the England under 16’s and 17’s as well as playing regularly for the under 18’s at Leeds United. Despite being just 16 years of age, Nohan has also played for the under 23’s and trained with the first team during preseason. He is primarily a midfielder, but he can also play in defence, he’s a player who’s matured beyond his years, both mentally and physically. As you can see from the video below, Kenneh also loves to score a banger.

I managed to speak to Kenneh via direct messages on Twitter to ask him a few questions about football and his future goals in the game, enjoy:

For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your playing style?

Who was your footballing idol growing up? Or currently seen as you’re still young?

Which football club did you support when you was younger?

How did you find your experience of training with first team during pre-season?

You’re currently away with England Under 17’s, what’s it like playing for them and training with players from different clubs?

What are your short term goals?

Having played in midfield and defence, what position do you expect to play long term?

Finally, Messi or Ronaldo?

As you can see, Nohan Kenneh has a sensible head on his shoulders and has a clear focus on making it as a professional footballer. It will interesting to see how his career pans out over the next 12–18 months, hopefully playing for the first team, at Leeds United. He is definitely a player that Leeds fans should be excited about, but with his talent, plenty of clubs around Europe will be looking at him.
